I was flagged for audio quality. What should I do?

If you were flagged due to your sound quality, we want to offer some tips. Usually sound issues are caused by background noise, a poor microphone, or both. There are a few things you can do to correct this:
 
1. Eliminate background noise in your recording environment. Turn off fans, music, machines (washers, dryers, and dishwashers), and televisions. Close any windows that result in a lot of street noise.
 
2. Use a microphone instead of your internal speaker. Microphones are very cheap and provide substantially better sound quality than internal speakers. Often, you can use a microphone from a mobile phone headset.
 
3. Check your sound level. If your audio sounds loud to you or "peaks out" and becomes distorted from being too loud, lower your voice or move further from the microphone. Similarly, if you can't hear yourself, speak louder or move the microphone closer.
